This series is inspired by the Egyptian portraits from the Fayum Valley (100 BC to 300 AD). It shows how people want to be remembered, not necessarily if they are dead, but at this time. I have asked the people portrayed to look at their own finitude.
The photographs are buried in the earth. After a while, the portraits are unearthed, dried and coated.
'As long as there is an image of me, I will live on'.
