With these family icons I honor my ancestors. In archives I searched for portraits of my ancestors. Based on the portraits I found, I made new portraits - icons.

I have composed these assemblages in insect boxes and put them together with insect needles. Each portrait is accompanied by a small story. 

An icon is not a realistic portrait, but an image that shows the inner self, its personality, nature and way of life.
