I am who I am

- I  A M  W H O  I  A M -

"I am who I am, that's all there is. I am the sum total of everything that went before me, of all I have been seen done, of everything done-to-me. I am everyone everything whose being-in-the-world affected was effected by mine" (phrases from the book Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie).

In this photo series about identity, I show the viewer a dissimilar world: boundless and interwoven. It's about integrating cultural differences and finding a way to place yourself in that. The interior of the old Dutch canal house from 1650 in Leiden (The Netherlands) plays a crucial role and affects the identity of the person in the photo.
